The London Collection launches

Leading interior architecture company David Collins Studio and Italian luxury furniture maker Promemoria have joined forces to create a new range of furniture and lighting, The London Collection.

Established in 1985, David Collins Studio has redefined luxury interior design on a global scale for three decades. Today, the multidisciplinary collective of designers gathered together by David Collins (1955-2013) continues his legacy with eminent projects for clients ranging from international fashion houses to leading hotel groups. Meanwhile, Promemoria’s began in the 19th century in a village on the shores of Lake Como, where the Sozzi family ran a business restoring and repairing carriages for the local aristocracy. Four generations, in the late Eighties, Romeo Sozzi founded Promemoria, a family-run company that today employs 130 people, with showrooms in Milan, Paris, Moscow, New York and London’s Pimlico Road, and an architecture department based in London.

The passion for exclusive materials and assiduous attention to detail shared by Promemoria and David Collins Studio are united in The London Collection. Perfected over the course of two years, this new range continues the creative dialogue first articulated with The Capsule Collection, launched at Salone del Mobile in 2013.

Longtime collaborators, the companies have created custom designs for David Collins Studio residential projects for the past decade, but the 2013 Capsule Collection marked their first joint venture available to the public. Refining and expanding the mutual love of geometry and symmetry that inspired the debut range, The London Collection is born of the dynamic design synergy that continues to flourish between these two creative forces.

Each piece in The London Collection is named in honour of David Collin’s affection for the elegant garden squares that adorn central London’s most exclusive neighbourhoods. The Bramham dining chair, for example celebrates Bramham Gardens, David’s former London residence. Other notable pieces in the collection include the curvaceous Grosvenor “tête à tête” love seat and the Cadogan table, available in three finishes: gold brushed blue oak, gold leaf oak and Brazilian black Agata marble.

At the heart of The London Collection is an appreciation of exceptional craftsmanship and a dedication to producing pieces that exemplify the cultivated luxury that defines both David Collins Studio and Promemoria. These are pieces that invite touch and inspire social interaction, enriching a welcoming home.
