Zone by The Park launches in India
Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels has launched a design-conscious, price-conscious brand named Zone by The Park. The first property will open in Coimbatore, with further hotels in Jaipur, Mahabalipuram, OMR Chennai and Raipur.
Zone Coimbatore will mark the start of a new level of design hotels in the mid-market Indian hospitality sector, following the rising stock of quality mid-market offerings in the west. As part of the brand’s expansion plans, the second property is slated to launch in Jaipur in January 2015. A further three properties are set to open by the end of 2015.
Priya Paul, Chairperson at The Park Hotels, has overseen the design of the hotels while working in conjunction with award winning architects Project Orange. The new hotels are set to act as a starting point to enjoy India’s lesser-known cities, becoming a hub of social interactivity for modern business and leisure travellers.
“Over the years we have noticed a growing demand for a new kind of hotel, for a new kind of traveller, someone who is moving up the ladder and is at ease with themselves,” commented Priya Paul. “Leveraging this opportunity, we have creating a mid-segment design-conscious, price-conscious brand.”
The brand Zone by The Park is envisioned as a social catalyst, drawing from The Park Hotels’ strong emphasis on design, the concept sees interactive and open-plan spaces, allowing different zones to sit next to each other in an informal way. Public spaces are inspired by the traditional market bazaar, allowing people to meet and engage in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. With informal, un-boxy spaces, playful interiors, multifunctional areas, restaurants, bars and vibrant nightlife, the latest brand offers spaces for people to meet new people, refresh and recharge.
