Zoku debuts in Amsterdam

The first Zoku hotel, a work-meets-play concept creation for the global nomad, has opened its doors in Amsterdam.

Designed in partnership with local firm Concrete, and described as a home-office hybrid, Zoku focuses on innovate hospitality and distinctive design. It offers both the services of a hotel and the social buzz of a thriving neighbourhood, and is located in the heart of the city, facilitating for the travelling professional, and notable for it’s Zoku Loft rooms.

These lofts can accommodate for business or leisure, and shift the focus of the room from the bed to the living space. Containing a fully equipped kitchen, cleverly designed storage space, plentiful office supplies and an elevated, loft-style sleeping space, the lofts can be used as personal spaces or dynamic work areas, with furnishings provided by Danish design brand Muuto.

Zoku, Japanese for family, tribe or clan, proves a suitable name with the hotel’s goal being to provide a space to relax, work, socialise and live in all at once.

The distinctive hotel combines traditional Scandinavian design aesthetics, functionality and craftsmanship for a unique short or long-term living experience. 24-hour social spaces are available to guests, alongside a number of meeting and event rooms, catering for every taste and atmosphere.

Easily accessible by car and public transport hubs, Zoku is targeted at those looking for an unconventional and modern living space with quick connections to the city’s business, culture, entertainment and shopping areas. As a leading European hub for innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship, Amsterdam is a natural fit for Zoku’s first home.

Next door stands a five-storey location of international co-working space called WeWork, with the local area referred to as the knowledge mile thanks to the dense concentration of commercial, educational and entrepreneurial talent.
