Zien Group debuts new brand in Amsterdam
Zien Group, parent company of Eden Hotels, has unveiled the first property to be added to its new brand of independent hotels. Jan Luyken Amsterdam, a historic townhouse in the heart of the city, has been transformed into a 62-room hotel following a multi-million pound investment.
Guestrooms in the new hotel come in a range of styles and sizes, with all featuring neutral furnishings from Elle-La and Dutch designer Bonnie Barlag, and Codage amenities in the bathrooms.
Communal spaces on the hotel’s ground floor have been designed by Amsterdam-based interior design studio Nicemakers, exuding a warm energy inspired by the vibrancy of the city. Overlooking the house’s private garden is a library which – nodding to the nearby Rijksmuseum, a museum dedicated to Dutch arts and history – houses a large selection of art-related books.
The townhouse’s kitchen is an open-plan space available for guests to use throughout the day, encouraging them to relax as though they were at home. Also available for use at leisure is the hotel’s gym, cork-walled and with floor-to-ceiling windows facing out onto the garden.
“This is an exciting time for our team as Zien Group reopens its first property outside of the Eden Hotels portfolio,” says Billy Skelli-Cohen, CEO of Zien Group. “We are continuing to unlock potential in our portfolio by reimagining some of our hotels while looking for growth opportunities throughout Europe.”
