Zanotta House in New York

Zanotta House to open in NYC this September

Tecno Zanotta Group has unveiled plans for Zanotta House New York, a new concept space – billed as a living experience created to explore today’s design sector – opening in Manhattan’s Greenwich Village this Autumn.

The showroom-come-apartment is seeking to become a cultural space for the design community to come together in dialogue about the future of the industry. The house will welcome creative clients, architects and designers by appointment, offering an oasis for a private meeting, a business breakfast, a presentation, or an overnight stay. On other occasions, the house will host public events, art exhibitions and performances, opening up to different audiences – university, culture and art – to connect with diverse global communities.

“Zanotta House is a new business model, a new form of expressing the brand,” explains Giuliano Mosconi, CEO of Tecno and Zanotta. “Tecno and Zanotta share an important history in the birth and affirmation of Italian design. A focus on quality and innovation that allows them to work together while maintaining the identity and know-how of the brands: Zanotta, home, and hospitality; Tecno, innovation and technology.”

The house also provides the opportunity to showcase different interpretations of space. On the one hand, furnishings from Zanotta offer different suggestions: the brand does not devise a specific style but objects with their own autonomous dimension. On the other hand, Tecno’s expertise has created a tailor-made space to highlight project skills, integrate technology in a soft way and improve the comfort of an environment.

New York-based studio Tihany Design, which has created the home’s interior and exterior spaces, took a fluid approach – influenced by a rethinking of the relationship between home and city, private and public, internal and external during the pandemic – to envision a hybrid setting where new functions are welcomed.

“I chose to tell the story of the Zanotta brand from a human perspective with a distinct feminine persona in mind – a modern metropolitan muse if you like,” says Alessia Genova, Managing Partner of Tihany Design. “Each room has a defined and decisive look and mood. Most of the furniture, chosen among the most iconic Zanotta pieces, relates to a particular theme while keeping the style diverse, elegant and contemporary.”

Zanotta House is a collective project too, including the collaboration of other brands that share the same commitment to research and quality as Zanotta. Project partner Viabizzuno, for instance, has supplied innovative lighting in every part of the space, interpreting natural light and reducing consumption.

Other partners include Bellino Linens; Kvadrat for textiles and curtains; CCTapis for carpets; Wallpepper for wallpapers; Magniflex for premium mattresses; Bosa for the ceramics and Venini for the glass vases. The table services are by Luigi and Rocco Bormioli, while F&B brands include Tartufi Urbani and Ca’ Del Bosco.

All artworks displayed are part of Art of the World, one of LA’s most famed contemporary collections. Among the works chosen are internationally renowned names such as French street and pop artist Mr. Brainwash.

The greenery – curated by Rossana Capurso – is also an integral part of the project, which follows sustainable principles by favouring rainwater recovery for irrigation and integrating various different species of plants.
