Zabeel House by Jumeirah opens doors

Zabeel House, a lifestyle hotel in Dubai by Jumeirah, has opened its doors. Featuring interiors by LW Design, the project seeks to combine themes of luxury and tradition, and comprises guestrooms inspired by New York lofts, a health club and spa, business centre and multiple dining venues.

A grand lobby features Avant-Garde furnishings, handcrafted chairs, ethnic rugs sourced from local sougs and traditional Arabic finishes. Wire mesh ceiling panels and concrete-effect tiles provide juxtaposition, whilst its arrangement emphasises communal interaction.

Mimicking this fusion of traditional Arabic accents and functional modern elements, the health club and spa features a design of exposed ceilings, concrete flooring and reclaimed timber slats for a sense of urban character, whilst regional artwork and décor contribute to an underscoring of local integrity. Likewise, the business centre incorporates middle-eastern accents, earthy tones and ornamental carpets to infuse the space with both contemporary comfort and hints of the area’s visuals.

Guestrooms channel urban functionality by way of earthy surfaces in oak, eccentric furnishings and ornamental rugs, with the space taking on the aesthetics of western lofts.

Elsewhere, the hotel’s F&B programme includes the Pan-Asian restaurant LahLah, where diners are surrounded by street art and welcomed by a bar constructed of reclaimed red bricks and scaffolding shelves holding Asian artefacts, whilst painted koi fish and Japanese slang carved into timber crates add a touch of informality to the target the hotel’s Millennial audience.
