Yotel in Porto

Yotel plants its first flag in Porto

Set to open its doors in Rua de Gonçalo Cristóvão on 28 May, Yotel Porto has been designed to meet the needs of today’s traveller, transporting elements of the luxury hotel experience into smaller, smarter spaces.

Inspired by first class airline travel, the property comprises 150 cabins – Yotel speak for rooms, each of which features a fully adjustable, space-saving SmartBed, multiple sockets and USB charging points, speedy WiFi and smart HD TVs with Chromecast technology. There’s a rain shower with Urban Skincare amenities too.

In the spirit of creating a low touch stay, guests can download the Yotel Porto mobile app, which will allow them to check-in before arriving at the hotel and create a SmartKey on any mobile device. The app can also be used to alert the crew if additional cleaning is required and can act as the lighting and TV control. Guests checking in at the hotel can use automated stations that adhere to Yotel’s #SmartStay programme, a package of measures, resources and training that has been rolled out at every one of its properties worldwide.

Other facilities include a 24/7 gym, on-site parking, meeting rooms, co-working spaces and Komyuniti, a bar and restaurant with outdoor deck. Guests can choose to have meals at the restaurant, room service or pick-up service. The property also boasts a series of event spaces with views of the city. Helping the crew on the ground are two robots, Yolinda and Yogiro, which deliver snacks and amenities to cabins when requested.

“The opening of the first Yotel in the Iberian Peninsula following such a challenging time for hospitality is testament to the brands dedication and United Investments Portugal’s continuous support and investment in the tourism industry as a whole,” says General Manager Nuno Godinho. “I am confident that this hotel, with its innovative vision and tech infrastructure, will be a great success here. The way we do things have always been different and Yotel Porto will offer a safe, seamless and fun experience for all visitors to the city.”
