Yakusha Studio to design next Nordelaia outpost
Nordelaia is set to open its second outpost in 2025, located in South of France village Beaulieu-sur-Mer.
The 33-key hotel, which overlooks the village’s port, has been designed by Yakusha Studio. The creatives have been tasked with transforming the 60s seafront building with a minimalist design scheme.
Interiors bring a sense of calm through a muted colour palette, soft edges and an emphasis on using natural, local materials – a departure from the opulence so often associated with the region. Located in a nature reserve area, trees and foliage add a softness to the original 60s Brutalist architecture.
A rooftop terrace – currently the only one in Beaulieu – offers views over the Mediterranean sea, while a second al fresco space will offer tapas-style dining. Completing the offering will be an outdoor pool area and gym.
A nod to its sister hotel in Piedmont, food will be overseen by Italian chef Andrea Ribaldone and Charles Pearce, who has established himself as a rising star at Nordelaia Piedmont’s relaxed fine dining restaurant Lorto.
