Marriott International and South Beach Consortium have announced that the 634-guestroom The South Beach Hotel designed by Philippe Starck is to become JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach. Located on Beach Road and adjacent to Suntex Singapore Convention and Exhibition centre, the hotel will be rebranded with the aim to offer authentic service and crafted culinary experiences.
Additionally, Ian Schrager, together with Marriott and Granmil Holdings, have revealed The Singapore Edition, the first hotel by the Marriott subsidiary to be developed in the city. The eight storey boutique hotel will feature 190-guestrooms and be located on the former Boulevard Hotel site on Orchard Boulevard.
“Singapore is one of the most important business and travel hubs in Asia Pacific and the world. We are very excited to enhance our luxury hotel portfolio and bring more options to this vibrant city,” comments Craig S. Smith, Asia Pacific President and Managing Director of Marriott International. “We are also glad to have the perfect partners for these two unique hotel projects and to expand two of our most prestigious and distinctive brands, JW Marriott and Edition, to Singapore.”
