Wanda Vista Hotel set for One Circular Quay
Property developer The Wanda Group has unveiled its vision for One Circular Quay, a large-scale, mixed-use development located on Australia’s Sydney Harbour.
Developed by Wanda One Sydney, the project will encompass two adjacent towers. The first is a 59-storey residential tower, One Circular Quay, with a planned 190 apartments. The second tower is a 28-storey high-rise that will house a 5 star, 181-key Wanda Vista Hotel – the first new 5-star hotel project to be built on Circular Quay since 1998. At the base between the two towers will be a 518m² area designed as a cultural revitalisation of public space, including boutique high-end luxury retail and public art spaces.
Sydney-based PTW Architects lead as Executive Architects for the entire project, while the hotel tower is being designed by Australia’s Crone Architects, in collaboration with Kengo Kuma & Associates from Tokyo, Japan.
Designed by architecture firm Kerry Hill Architects, the One Circular Quay residential tower will be constructed using sandstone and glass, with the tower’s façade directly referencing the historical materials of neighbouring precincts like The Rocks and the CBD’s Financial District. The interior design, meanwhile, will seek to create a serene and elegant environment to complement the sophisticated architecture, using a colour palette of champagne, chocolate and cream with accents of gold, bronze, marble and timber.
With views of landmarks including the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, One Circular Quay is situated on the site of the first European settlement in Australia, on the northern edge of Sydney’s Central Business District, and is minutes from the cultural attractions including Sydney Opera House and the Museum of Contemporary Art Australia.
In addition to this new development, the Wanda Group is also expanding its international portfolio to include luxury mixed-use developments across cities including London’s One Nine Elms; Beverly Hills’ One Beverly Hills; Chicago’s Vista Tower; and Istanbul’s Wanda Vista Istanbul; as well as The Jewel Residences on Australia’s Gold Coast.
