Viceroy Hotels & Resorts makes Europe debut

Viceroy Hotels & Resorts has opened Viceroy Kopaonik Serbia, marking the brand’s European debut. Located on the country’s largest mountain range, the 119-room alpine resort has joined The Viceroy Icon Collection.

Designed by WATG and its interiors studio, Wimberly Interiors, the property reflects the local “Suvo Rudiste” style and complements the beauty of its surrounding landscape. Showcasing the height of alpine living, the interiors celebrate the region’s culture and craftsmanship by way of stone, glass, timber and textiles. Floor-to-ceiling glass walls and open-air spaces offer abundant natural light and a picture frame of views.

“We’re extraordinarily proud to open our first European resort in the beautiful, culturally rich destination of Kopaonik,” says Viceroy’s CEO Bill Walshe. “Through inspiring experiences, engaging service and genuine connections, we are bringing an elevated offering that will stand out from its competitors across Europe.”

Amongst the hotel’s offer are three dining venues, a full-service spa, indoor and outdoor pools and curated off-site guest experiences, while its guestrooms and suites include a two-bedroom penthouse. Each stylish accommodation boasts a private balcony with views of the mountain or ski village unlike others in the region.

Helmed by Executive Chef Andrew Jones, the F&B programme is rooted in international and Serbian cuisines, taking cues from the local terrain and culinary scene. Pique Ski Bar, overlooking the ski centre, offers light bites and drinks, live performances and a view of Pancic’s peak, while The Mountain Kitchen welcomes guests for breakfast, lunch and dinner, serving healthy dishes that honour the region’s rich heritage.

Located in the lobby meanwhile, The Library is a quiet haven where guests can sip artisan coffee and teas before heading out to the slopes, or other beverages while perusing a curated selection of books. And, coming soon to the hotel, an intimate Asian-inspired restaurant showcasing specialties from duck to sushi.

The Spa by Viceroy, the only full-service luxury spa in Kopaonik, boasts six treatment rooms, a beauty lab, an indoor vitality pool, and a hammam/scrub room offering holistic wellness experiences using native mountain ingredients. There’s also two meeting rooms, an outdoor jacuzzi and ski valet, and Generation V kids’ club.
