Ty Warner Mansion opens
Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort, has announced the opening of the new 28,000ft2 Ty Warner Mansion. Designed by Ty Warner, and with interiors by Robert Courtier, the luxury property will feature a private beachfront infinity pool, swim up bar, dining patio and professional spa, all in a private residential style setting. The mansion will mark the completion of Las Ventanas’ five-year, multi-million dollar development project.
“The Ty Warner Mansion is the true manifestation of an earthly paradise, unparalleled by any resort accommodation in the world,” explains Frederic Vidal, managing director at Las Ventanas al Paraíso, A Rosewood Resort. “Mr. Warner has designed the mansion with the craftsmanship of an ornate jewellery box. Each room features exquisite materials with unique discoveries at every turn.”
Accessed by a private entrance that mimics the resort’s arrival experience, guests will be greeted by a courtyard featuring a 360° garden. Within the mansion, a reflecting pool is lit by natural sunlight through a retractable glass sunroof onto more than 7.5 million hand-laid white marble tiles. The room will then transition into an indoor/outdoor living room, which will be decorated with brightly coloured sofas upholstered in Indian silks and a multi-coloured wooden dragon sculpture made by Claudio Ojeda Morales.
Overseen by acclaimed interior designer Robert Couturier, the elegantly appointed interiors of The Ty Warner Mansion will reflect the spirit, culture and beauty of the region. Throughout the mansion, bright colours and hand-woven textiles will celebrate the rich craftsmanship of Mexican artisans. The authentic Mexican artistry within the mansion will include original art, textiles, hand-blown glass fixtures, hand-made organic bathroom accessories, hand-carved painted alebrije sculptures, and hand-embossed metallic furniture and finishes sourced from Jalisco, Michoacán, Chiapas and Oaxaca over a four-year period. Artists featured will include Cecilio Hernandez of Guanajuato, Claudio Ojeda Morales, Sergio Santiago and Lucila Sosa San Antonio of Oaxaca and Guadalupe Hermosillo Escobar of Chiapas.
Adjacent to the great room, a Hacienda-style chef’s kitchen will serve up a custom menu created each day by a private chef to suit the guest’s needs. More than five dining enclaves will be present throughout the mansion, including the Silver Room, an elegant dining room outfitted with a silver leaf ceiling, dining chairs and a dining table, all of which have been designed by San Miguel-based tinsmith artist Cecilio Hernandez.
Flanking either side of the mansion will be two sprawling ocean view master suites with en suite bathrooms offering ample room for couples looking for space and privacy. Each suite will feature 20ft ceilings, Indian silk sari upholstery, and 30ft wide sliding glass doors opening directly onto a pool deck. The suites will also be adorned with custom designed Mexican artwork, and will offer luxurious private steam rooms, saunas, and outdoor showers.
The mansion will feature a state-of-the-art media room complete with a 14″ widescreen UltraHD projector and 90” flatscreen. Additionally, The Ty Warner Mansion will offer a tequila library stocked with a collection of the world’s rarest tequilas including Clase Azul Ultra and Don Julio Real.
Outside, nearly 7,000ft2 of outdoor space will feature a 328-foot long private infinity pool overlooking the Sea of Cortez, dual spas, a sunken in-pool living room, an oversize chess set, and a private dining patio. On the rooftop, accessible by private elevator, a 9,000ft2 terrace with sun deck will boast amenities including a glass-bottom lap pool, whirlpool spa, bar, inlaid Indian bed, putting green, custom pool table and massage pavilion.
