Tivoli announces continued expansion in Portugal
Tivoli Hotels & Resorts has announced its continued expansion in Portugal, the brand’s home country, with the upcoming launch of Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia Hotel.
Located on the south bank of the Douro River, in the city of Gaia, the hotel is scheduled to open in early 2025.
The new opening will be located on the hillside of Gaia in an ancient wine cellar, and will pay tribute to Kopke, a leading brand in the production of tawny and white port.
150 guestrooms will be on offer – including 10 suites – as well as two restaurants and three bars. Additional amenities include two pools, a fitness centre, six meeting rooms and 9,000m² of gardens. The property will also be home to a Tivoli Spa, where bespoke therapies will be aligned with the destination and inspired by the natural elements.
F&B experiences will include a fine dining restaurant, as well as an all-day-dining concept, wine bar and a rooftop bar overlooking the river.
“We are delighted to announce this exciting upcoming addition to the Tivoli portfolio in the Porto region with a truly special partnership with Kopke,” says Dillip Rajakarier, Group CEO of Minor International and CEO of Minor Hotels. “With a beautiful and privileged location, this property will offer exceptional facilities to both business and leisure guests, connecting them with the world of port wine in a very exclusive way. We are honoured to be working with the team at Kopke to bring this property to fruition.”
Pedro Braga, CEO of Sogevinus, parent company of Kopke, adds: “We’re very proud to present our first hotel in partnership with Tivoli brand. This collaboration reflects our ambitions for the property and we believe that the partnership with Minor Hotels will be able to create a new world-class hotel that celebrates luxury and wine in a stunning location surrounded by unique world heritage, and paying homage to centuries of history.”
