Third Tokyo opening imminent for Trunk
Japanese group Trunk will begin welcoming guests at its third property in September 2023. The 25-room Trunk(Hotel) Yoyogi Park is located in the heart of Tokyo, close to the lush greenery of Yoyogi Park. The hotel’s design centres around the concept of an Urban Recharge, inviting guests to find both solace and stimulus in the city’s heart.
Designed by Japanese architect and designer Keiji Ashizawa in collaboration with Norm Architects and Trunk’s in-house design studio, the hotel works in harmony with its surrounding landscape. The result of the collaboration is a design language in which a distinctively Japanese use of materials, techniques and arrangement of space comes together with a modern design approach and a Scandinavian sensibility. Four kinds of rooms will be available to guests, all with their own balconies.
Beyond its guestrooms, the hotel will also feature a restaurant and rooftop pool with lounge.
“It gives us great pleasure to open Trunk(Hotel) Yoyogi Park next to the park that symbolises the city of Tokyo,” comments Yoshitaka Nojiri, President of Trunk. “We are confident that even seasoned travellers will be delighted by the superb rooftop views of the greenery of the park and the landscape of Tokyo. The hotel was designed in an elegant and refined style out of consideration for its location in Tomigaya.”
The new opening will add to Trunk’s existing portfolio, which includes various locations across Tokyo, while the brand also plans to open a new property in Shibuya’s Dogenzaka area in 2027.
