The Viewpoint debuts luxury waterfront suites
Maine’s The Viewpoint has unveiled a new East Coast oceanside experience with its Shoreside Rooms.
The seven private suites have been carved into the coastline using poured concrete that mimics the rocky shores below, with floor-to-ceiling glass doors, bathrooms – fitted out with Kohler products – and facades that optimise views of the North Atlantic Ocean and the state’s famed Nubble Lighthouse.
The room design reflects an elegant, Mid-Century Modern aesthetic, adopting warm, natural textures throughout. Design details include king beds with amber underlighting to create a soft and calming glow, and woven headboards fitted with planters. Perched on each room’s bedside table is a different chrome bird lamp, a nod to the more than twenty species of birds found living across the property.
The rooms’ architecture has been designed to blend into the natural landscape, as Maine’s first-ever grass-roof commercial structure. In addition to concealing the rooms seamlessly into the natural landscape, the green roof has sustainability benefits – absorbing rainwater and providing insulation to maintain ambient temperatures.
Guests of The Viewpoint can enjoy a range of on-site amenities, including a 900ft² saltwater pool, beach club service with a private shuttle to the nearby Long Sands Beach, and a Peloton-equipped fitness studio.
The two-acre expansion is courtesy of of husband-wife owners Joe Lipton and Michelle Friar, who are also set to announce a new spa at The Viewpoint.
