The St. Regis Chengdu to debut in the heart of Sichuan’s capital

The 32nd Regis hotel worldwide follows recent landmark openings in Tianjin, Sanya, Lhasa and Shenzhen. The St. Regis Chengdu aims to set a new standard in Southwest China for bespoke service and refined elegance.

With an exclusive address in the heart of Chengdu’s business district, the hotel is located just steps away from Tianfu Square and Chun Xi Road high-end retail area. The 29-storey hotel is part of the new Huazhi Plaza, a mixed-use development comprised of four elegant towers that will become a hub for residential, business, entertainment and shopping.

“We look forward to unveiling the St. Regis Chengdu, with its promise of exceptional service standards and refined elegance that will offer a new benchmark for modern luxury, flawless service and classic sophistication that has yet to be seen in Chengdu,” commented Richard Deutl, St. Regis Chengdu General Manager.

The St. Regis Chengdu is aimed at today’s entrepreneurial traveller, with a design style that infuses Art Deco styling of the 1920’s with traditional elements of Szechuan culture and the high-energy dynamism of Chengdu. The Art Deco styling links to the era when the flagship St. Regis opened its doors in New York City, and will be augmented with traditional accents, modern architecture elements and stunning pieces of art that are both custom-made and curated expecially for the hotel. The detailing and styling is a catalyst between era and cultures, offering East meets West philosophies and the fusion of classic elements with modern day luxury.

In a nod to the city’s epicurean pedigree as UNESCO’s first City of Gastronomy in Asia, The 279-room hotel will feature six distinct restaurants and lounges. These include Social – a signature all-day dining restaurant Yan Ting – speciality Chinese restaurant featuring Cantonese and Sichuan cuisine; Yun Fu – four district private dining rooms on level 27; Decanter – Chengdu’s only dedicated wine bar; Vantage XXVII – an outdoor sky bar with views of the city skyline; and The Drawing Room – offering St. Regis rituals such as champagne sobering and afternoon tea.

Chengdu is the capital of Sichuan province in Southwest China, a region known as “the Country of Heaven”. An ancient city with rich cultural traditions, it is best known for its flavourful cuisine, ancient Sichuan Opera and as the home for China’s Giant Pandas. It is also recognised as a vital hub for commerce, serving the rapidly expanding world economy as a hub for more than 252 of Fortune 500 companies.
