The Pilgrm sets summer opening
The Pilgrm, a 73-guestroom hotel, is set to open in London’s Norfolk Square this summer. A collaborative project by Jason Catifeoglou, Andreas Thrasyvoulou and Steph Thrasyvoulou, the property is being touted as a reinterpretation of the traditional hotel concept.
The multimillion pound refurbishment is being carried out by 93, a dedicated architectural and design team passionate about preserving and restoring as many of the building’s original inner and outer Victorian features as possible.
Addressing the shift in needs of the modern traveller, the hotel will aim to remove any perceived barriers between guest and hotel. With this in mind, the Pilgrm will seek to make the booking and arrival process a seamless experience. Guests will check in online, thus removing the need for a reception desk and the need for a traditional hotel lobby.
Guestrooms will feature reclaimed and restored furnishings, from 200-year-old mahogany parquet floors to original cast iron radiators, offset by a striking signature Tom Dixon cloud carpet, alongside organic mattresses, 100% Egyptian cotton sheets and Marshall speakers.
The Pilgrm will incorporate a ground floor neighbourhood café, that will also serve as the welcome area for guests. There will also be a lounge bar and dining room on the first floor, accommodating up to 30 covers and set in a striking uninterrupted space featuring reclaimed chevron wooden flooring balanced against vintage cornicing and moulds.
