The Ned announces 2017 launch

Soho House & Co and Sydell Group have collaborated to create The Ned, a hotel, club and collection of restaurants in the city of London.

Situated in the former Midland Bank, a heritage building designed by Sir Edwin ‘Ned’ Lutyens in 1924, The Ned will open in Spring of 2017. The property will contain nine restaurants, 252 guestrooms channeling a 1920’s and 1930’s design scheme, a range of men’s and women’s grooming services and Ned’s Club, a members club independent from Soho House.

Guestrooms will feature mahogany furniture, chandeliers and patterned furnishings, with vintage pieces including hand-knotted Afghan rugs and rainforest showers. Meanwhile, seven restaurants in the former Grand Banking Hall will serve food sourced from British, North American and Japanese cuisines amongst others. Cecconi’s City of London will serve up handmade pasta, pizza, seafood and Italian inspired dishes, whilst Pen Yen will offer sashimi, tataki ramen and robata dishes with sake.

Staying at The Ned also permits guests temporary membership at Ned’s Club, the on-site clubhouse featuring a rooftop pool, canopy bar and restaurant, plus access to Ned’s Club Active, an area containing cardio, strength and training equipment plus a boxing gym, alongside a sauna, steam room and spa. Completing the property are six private hire rooms with a dedicated reception area, and two terraces.
