The Hoxton Florence

The Hoxton to open in Florence

The Hoxton is continuing to expand in Europe, with a new property opening in Florence in late 2024.

Located in the city’s centre, the 161-room hotel will be split across two buildings: a 16th century palazzo with its original facade and vaulted arcade, and a 1980s Andrea Branzi-designed building, serving as a Modernist juxtaposition with its timber slatted facade and minimal, linear architecture. The buildings are connected by an open-air courtyard, with a cascading fountain and landscaped gardens that serve as an outdoor dining space for the property’s Italian Riviera-inspired restaurant.

The hotel’s guestrooms are split across the buildings, with unique design schemes to reflect each. Some rooms are complete with views of the Duomo, others have sumptuous outdoor bathtubs or landscaped terraces. The Florence property will also be home to a self-contained three-bedroom apartment, with its own kitchen, lounge and shaded private courtyard – part of a new accomodation category for the brand that will also feature at The Hoxton, Edinburgh.

The Hoxton Florence

The ground floor comprises an open-door lobby with comfy seating, cosy corners and a coffee counter. Alassio, an Italian restaurant with a focus on fresh seafood and holiday-inspired dishes, is spread across an intimate dining room, vaulted winter garden and courtyard, while Enoteca Violetta is a cosy wine bar offering a collection of European wines in a relaxed setting.

Two dedicated event spaces offer contrasting atmospheres to suit all occasions – a moody vaulted wine cellar in the basement with two connecting rooms and a feature bar, and a 130m² shaded rooftop terrace with its own bar and panoramic views across the city.
