The House Collective eyes Xi’an for 2028 opening

The House Collective has announced that the latest addition to its portfolio of hotels will be a new House in Xi’an.

The Xi’an property is located within the Small Wild Goose Pagoda historical and cultural zone, and will form part of Swire Properties’ mixed-use development Taikoo Li Xi’an. Slated for 2028, it will comprise approximately 115 guestrooms and 55 residences, many with views of the pagoda. Japanese architect Shigeru Ban has been tapped to take the lead on architecture, with design firm Layan behind interiors.

“This new House in Xi’an, a city of such historical and cultural significance, marks another important step in the growth of The House Collective brand,” says Toby Smith, Deputy Chairman of Swire Hotels, the group behind The House Collective. “We always strive to create memorable experiences that truly marry our passion for luxury hospitality with the local culture, and this world heritage site, with its Jianfu Temple, a royal temple of Tang Chang’an, offers the perfect stage for us to continue this journey.”

Launched in 2008, The House Collective creates and manages hotels with strong cultural and architectural character. The news of its forthcoming Xi’an opening follows announcements of additional new Houses in Tokyo and Shenzhen.
