Luxury resort group, The Emerald Collection, is set to open the Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa in 2022, doubling its portfolio in the Maldives.
Situated in the Raa Atoll, the seven-hectare private island will comprise beachfront guest villas, five dining options, two bars, plus a state-of-the-art Emerald Spa and fitness centre.
The resort’s 80 villas will range from Beach Villas and Water Villas to a Presidential Villa, featuring a minimalistic yet sophisticated design, which draws from the natural surroundings by incorporating stone and wood elements.
As part of the resort’s all-inclusive service, guests will be able to enjoy unlimited access to four gastronomic restaurants and two bars. Located on the resort’s scenic jetty, signature restaurant Mediterraneo will offer Italian fine dining, while neighbouring Eclipse Bar will serve aperitifs and cocktails.
Hidden within the island’s lush vegetation, the Emerald Spa will be elevated amongst the palm trees, enhancing the sense of seclusion on the private island. This state-of-the-art facility will comprise plunge pools, a steam room, a yoga pavilion and eight air-conditioned spa suites offering traditional Balinese massages and facials.
“We are thrilled to announce the acquisition and launch of our second property in the Maldivian archipelago, Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa – a smaller, and lusciously green island with a beautiful house reef, a spa and glorious dining,” comments Aldo Scarapicchia, Partner and Managing Director of The Emerald Collection. “Just a 25-minute boat ride from Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa, this resort perfectly complements our existing offering in the destination.”
Scarapicchia adds: “The acquisition of Emerald Faarufushi Resort & Spa is an exciting stage in our growth as a collection of distinctive luxury tropical resorts and consolidates our brand’s international presence which spans from the Maldives to Zanzibar, where we’re opening a new 5-star resort next year”.
