The Emblem Hotel merges past, present and future in the heart of Prague
Presenting the idea of “staying with them” as opposed to “staying at them”, The Emblem provides a modern take on the traditional home in Prague. With 59 rooms, a private members club, a restaurant and bar, a spa with rooftop terrace and many living spaces, the hotel is dedicated to creating a community.
Housed in a building from 1908, the design echoes an eclectic mix of Central European architecture with hints of Cubism, Art Nouveau, Secessionism, Art Deco and Bauhaus. The team at The Emblem, with the help of interior designer Alison McNeil, have created an atmosphere committed to historic materials, classic details and simplicity.
The hotel boasts five different room types; King Dom, Queen Dom, Twin Key, Pied-a-terre and Suite Pretender, which are accompanied by three signature spaces in the form of The Atelier, Suite Terrace and Suite Library. Amenities are in plentiful supply in the guestrooms, as each one comes with a Nespresso machine, flat screen TV, Samsung tablet, Pure Altitude bath products and a locally stocked minibar – reiterating the hotel’s focus on community.
The sense of community is demonstrated by The Emblem as they assembled gifted, young European designers such as fashion designer Jakub Polanka, illustrators Tomski & Polanski, architect Bartosz Swiniarski and graphic designer Filip Matejicek to showcase their talents alongside recognised designers in the hotel. Some of the more established names include Ochre, Andrew Clancy, Vladimir Kagan, Antonio Citterio and Paola Navone.
The hotel features unique design characteristics such as Italian blue marble bathrooms and customised pieces from acclaimed designers. Each signature space is unique; The Atelier is the hotel’s artist studio, designed to bring out the artist within; Suite Terrace comes with the largest personal terrace in the hotel; and Suite Library is a cosy attic suite with a diverse personal library and a stand-alone copper bath. All rooms at The Emblem serve the purpose of being your bedroom – with all the comforts you expect from a luxury hotel – enveloped in a communal atmosphere.
The Maharal Club is one of the places in The Emblem most dedicated to this atmosphere. Located on the lowest level of the hotel, the Club offers five different living spaces; The Pantry, The Fumoir, The Salon, The Games Room and The Drawing Room. It is a place for a variety of thoughts in many different mediums and is designed to be a meeting of the minds, with residents of Prague and travellers from abroad.
The Emblem boasts an American-style steakhouse, George Prime Steak, serving a selection of quality beef and fresh daily seafood as well as a comprehensive range of Californian Wines and American cocktails.
The top floor of The Emblem is occupied by The M Spa by Pure Altitude, a premier day spa, fitness and relaxation facility that uses French products formulated with antioxidants and anti-ageing properties. The spa includes several treatment rooms, hair studio and relaxation room, among other features alongside the rooftop terrace boasting incomparable views of Prague.
The Emblem Hotel boasts state-of-the-art technology, with a tablet system in place for optimal guest and employee interaction. Visually pleasing and effective, the technology intertwines with the historic building to create a modern home from home.
