The Bürgenstock Collection acquires first hotel outside of Switzerland
The Bürgenstock Collection has announced the addition of The Adria to its portfolio of hotels, with the South Kensington property marking the collection’s fourth hotel and first outside of Switzerland.
Previously a residential home, the 1870s townhouse was acquired by Katara Hospitality, parent company of the Bürgenstock brand, in 2021. Then opened to the public in January 2022, the 24-key hotel recently underwent a £1 million restoration, led by Hirsch Bedner Associates.
“The addition of The Adria to The Bürgenstock Collection is an exciting step for the group, in welcoming our first property outside of Switzerland,” says Stefan Leser, the brand’s Executive Director. “The Adria embodies all the qualities we strive for in a hotel, with the utmost in service, style and a prestigious heritage. It will be a pleasure to work with the team in London to continue to develop The Adria’s respected reputation both within the city and internationally.”
Gary Redmond, General Manager at The Adria, adds: “Joining the esteemed team at The Bürgenstock Collection is an exciting prospect for the hotel. To be aligned with some of the most recognised properties within Europe and being able to learn from their expertise is exciting for the whole team at The Adria.”
The Bürgenstock Collection is a luxury hotel brand based in Switzerland, with a hospitality history that spans 150 years.
