Hotel Palazzo Touring Club has opened its doors, marking Radisson Collection Hotels’ first property in Milan.

The hotel comprises 79 guestrooms and 10 suites, ranging from Junior Suites to the Presidential Suite with its own private balcony, in addition to a bookshop, travel agency, restaurant, spa and fitness centre.

Located in the Palazzo Bertarelli, the historic headquarters of the Italian Touring Club dating back to 1915, the building underwent a comprehensive refurbishment and redesign led by local firm Studio Marco Piva.

In transforming the building into the five-star hotel it is today, its neoclassical features were carefully preserved while new furnishings were selected to honour its unique identity.

Guided by the concept of preserving the charm of the past while looking forward to the future, the building’s original Art Nouveau façade was restored, reviving the exterior’s grandeur to welcome new travellers. Elsewhere, close ties were maintained with rooms’ pre-existing functions while breathing new life into them, seen in the hotel’s modernised library and travel agency.

“With my Studio, I have a forward-looking goal: living the present, while preserving the past and planning the future,” explains Marco Piva, Founder of Studio Marco Piva. “This is the perspective that has guided the restoration of Palazzo Bertarelli, taking advantage of every aspect of the original building, allowing its elegant and sophisticated soul to travel into the 21st century.”
