Stonehill Taylor draws on tropical Modernism to revamp Florida hotel
Stonehill Taylor has completed the renovation of Renaissance Orlando Resort and Spa, unveiling a tropical Modernist-inspired design scheme.
The transformation – spanning all of the hotel’s spaces – draws on Florida’s vibrant aesthetic, including from the local citrus groves of Orlando.
The lobby embraces a tropical theme through botanical touches and a colour palette that reflects the local landscape. Additional design details include eclectic art, wooden wallcoverings and unique light fixtures. The pool bar has undergone a transformation to align with the lobby’s interiors, featuring new barstools, geometric palm-inspired tiles and hanging ferns.
Guestrooms meanwhile draw on a warm palette, with citrus-inspired pops of yellow featuring alongside woven textures and warm woods. Other unique design features include small metal figurines of birds native to the area, and ceiling designs that emulate a sun canopy.
The hotel’s redesign also extended to updating the corridors and elevator landings with new carpeting, signage and lighting fixtures.
