Standard International to launch new hotel concept in New York
Standard International is launching a new hotel concept in September 2024, the vision of Executive Chairman Amar Lalvani.
The Manner, nestled on a tree-lined street in SoHo, will target a sophisticated global traveller, promising a design-led, discreet and refined sensibility.
Designed by Hannes Peer in tandem with Standard International’s in-house studio, the 97-room property will see the designer incorporating his signature residential style into his first hotel project. Custom art and sculpture pieces will find home throughout, while guestrooms will feature Costa Brazil amenities, linen by Anim and – purposefully – no televisions.
Four distinct food and beverage concepts will be led by chef Alex Stupak, including The Otter, a ground-floor restaurant serving seafood-focused cuisine; Sloane’s, a chic second-floor cocktail bar; and two additional spaces reserved exclusively for guests and their friends.
The Manner represents the first acquisition of the management group behind The Standard, The StandardX, Bunkhouse and Peri Hotels, and is its first foray into the luxury space.
