Holm Somerset Guestroom

Somerset restaurant Holm adding guestrooms to hospitality offering

Somerset hideaway Holm has announced that it will open seven guestrooms above its restaurant in November 2023, following the completion of extensive renovations.

The new guestrooms at Holm will mirror the aesthetic of the below restaurant, with the bones of the 1830s building – previously a bank – sensitively restored. With architects Gundry & Ducker and Project Coordinator Decca Lang at the helm, each room showcases a combination of exposed lime plaster, muted tones, ceramic and wood. All seven bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms, with three featuring roll top tubs and one bedroom with a four-poster bed.

Holm’s restaurant menu is deeply rooted in the local – an ethos that is extended into guestrooms. Furniture has been sourced by Somerset-based Origo House, who worked with furniture designer Tortie Hoare to create bespoke oak headboards for the beds and mini bars. Pacha Design have created bedside tables, Ikebana vases and oak trays using reclaimed materials, while art in the bedrooms showcases a selection locally-connected artists, sourced and framed by Somerset-based Mount Collective.

Ceramics from nearby John Leach’s Muchelney Pottery find home alongside pieces from potter Gail Cooper, while curtains have been crafted from British Melton wool by Willow Interiors. Hebridean sheepskins lounge on chairs from Otter Valley Farm, and wool blankets from Somerset-based Gather are made using British wool.

In addition to guestrooms, the upper floor will also feature a mixed-use studio space, complete with honesty bar, which is set to serve as a venue for events and drinks receptions.
