Soho House to debut in Scandinavia this July
Soho House has unveiled plans for a new house in Copenhagen this July, marking its entry into Scandinavia.
Situated within the city’s former Customs House and ferry terminal in Havnegade, the oval-shaped building is set across two floors and includes a members’ club space, an outdoor terrace looking out to the water and a Club Cecconi’s restaurant serving Northern Italian dishes. Situated upstairs meanwhile is the Customs Room, a relaxed, laptop-friendly space during the day and an entertainment and events venue come evening.
Soho House also plans to open Soho Active – a gym and studio space – on the second floor later in the year.
Envisioned by Soho House Design, the development will feature a colour palette inspired by local artist paintings such as Lili Elbe, combined with the colourful Nyhavn style of architecture and a modern Danish aesthetic that honours the likes of Arne Jacobsen. The house will be furnished with vintage Danish pieces, together with specially commissioned works, fabrics and materials from native artisans and suppliers.
“Copenhagen is an exciting city and I can’t wait to welcome interesting, talented and kind people from its vibrant creative scene to our global membership,” says Nick Jones, founder and CEO of Soho House.
