Sherwood Suites Opens In Saigon
Sherwood Suites, an apartment-only property near the heart of Ho Chi Minh City, has opened with the aim of delivering travellers a mix of hotel luxury and residential flexibility.
The 20-storey property is positioning itself as a new choice for travellers by offering five-star hotel service and amenities – such as an outdoor covered pool, an international deli and restaurant and gym – alongside a range of self-contained luxury suites and apartments.
With a design aesthetic that calls to mind the stately architecture in London’s Knightsbridge area, the property features a total of 157 apartments. Studios weigh in at 57m², one bedroom units range from 61m² to 81m² while two bedroom apartments offer between 91m² and 118m² of space.
“More and more, people are looking for a home-away-from home experience when they set up for a stay overseas, whether for a night or a year,” says Janet Fitzner, General Manager of Sherwood Suites. “But you can’t quite persuade yourself that you’re having such an experience unless you’re in a spacious place.”
Each apartment features contemporary Italian designer furniture and comfortable mattresses, as well as fully equipped kitchens, marble-clad bathrooms with rainforest showers, floor-to-ceiling windows and free access to high-speed Wi-Fi. Amenities, meanwhile, include walk-in closets, and flat screen televisions as standard in both bedrooms and the main living areas.
Similar attention to detail has been extended to the public areas of the property. The lobby, with its marble flooring, designer lighting and black and gold lines, is home to a 65-cover restaurant, with the dining element taking up the entirety of the left side of the open-plan lobby.
The upstairs outdoor deck on the first floor features a covered 20m swimming pool and an outdoor Jacuzzi, while the pool bar offers a menu of snacks, drinks and handcrafted cocktails. Further amenities include a gym, games’ room, kids club and meeting venue. Situated in leafy District 3, one of the city’s most sought-after areas, the locale is distinguished by its French colonial villas, mature trees and big-name visitor draws.
“People come to Ho Chi Minh City for a range of different reasons these days,” Fitzner concludes. “Some come for business, some for leisure, some with their partner and some with their family. What we offer is a product that offers the ultimate in flexibility, but does not spare anything in terms of comfort.”
