Sheraton Nashville joins Grand category

Spearheaded by JRK Property Holdings, Sheraton Nashville Downtown’s extensive redesign has seen the hotel join Sheraton’s Grand category, one of just five in the United States with this distinction. New York-based designer Anna Busta, who was also behind W South Beach and the Viceroy, designed the renovation.

The newly designated Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown Hotel recently topped off its evolution with the debut of Skye, a penthouse event space overlooking Music City. Skye completes the property’s $35 million renovation, rounding out a new guest experience that includes spacious guestrooms, 30,000ft² of expanded meeting space, a remodelled fitness centre and diverse new culinary offerings.

Formerly known as Pinnacle, Skye offers 360-degree view of downtown and features a tank full of 150 jellyfish as a centrepiece, accentuating the artful details found throughout the hotel. Elsewhere, the new lobby acts as a focal point for the hotel, welcoming guests with a hand-blown glass chandelier, a floating wooden staircase, terrazzo tile, and plush custom seating areas.

The hotel has also reinvented its food and beverage programming, tapping into the local flavours of Tennessee with the Library Bar, offering an impressive collection of more than 50 varietals of bourbon, and Broadway Kitchen, which serves up casual comfort cuisine in a contemporary setting. Updated function spaces include the Platinum Ballroom and the project’s signature Legislative Terrace.

“JRK is proud to have Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown at the forefront of the widely esteemed Sheraton Grand category,” comments Jim Lippman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of JRK Property Holdings. “We have invested significantly in both the physical design as well as the guest experience to dramatically shift the perception of Sheraton with today’s modern traveller.”

Located in exclusive destinations, Sheraton Grand hotels are marked by sophisticated design, innovative restaurant concepts, and forward thinking meetings spaces. Sheraton Grand Nashville Downtown joins the portfolio which includes hotels in major markets such as Los Angeles, Melbourne, Stockholm, Chicago and Singapore.

“This year Sheraton is celebrating our 80th anniversary. Being Marriott International’s most global brand with nearly 450 hotels across 73 countries, we are firmly committed to keeping Sheraton evolving to better match guest expectations for the brand around the world,” explains Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President and Global Brand Leader for Sheraton, Marriott Hotels and Delta Hotels. “The Sheraton Grand designation highlights our standout hotels in terms of exceptional product, service and guest experience, and we couldn’t be more excited to award the Sheraton Nashville Downtown with this exemplary designation.”
