Scandic to open hotel in Kødbyen

Denmark’s largest hotel operator Scandic has announced plans to open a large international hotel in Kødbyen for Spring 2018.

Located in the centre of Copenhagen’s meatpacking district, the hotel will be designed with the history and urban character of the area in mind. The meeting spaces will also showcase creative solutions and avant-garde design.

The hotel will encompass a total area of almost 15500m² with 370 rooms planned, plus 1900m² designated to meeting and restaurant facilities.

President and CEO of Scandic Hotels, Frank Fiskers says: “The new hotel in Kødbyen will be a unique international hotel for Copenhageners and guests alike. We intend to highlight the unique history of the area and create a hotel that will be a powerful addition to what is now the city’s most expansive area.”

KLP Ejendomme, one of Norway’s largest real estate companies, owns the property.

Scandic is the market leader in Nordic hospitality, with a network of almost 230 hotels with 42,000 rooms in seven countries and run by 14,000 team members. Eight of these hotels are in Copenhagen.
