Madeiran brand Savoy Signature has revealed plans to open a new Next Hotel in Funchal this July, aimed at meeting the needs of Millennials with a high-tech experience that retains a connection with the locale.
Designed by RH+ Architects and featuring interiors by Isworkroom, the property will feature industrial finishes and art installations as well as co-working spaces throughout that cater to the growing number of digital nomads worldwide. A smartphone app will also be accessible to guests from the time of booking.
Elsewhere, the spa will offer forest therapy and features products from sustainable beauty brand, Comfort Zone. Amongst its facilities are three treatment rooms, a sauna, Turkish bath, ice-fountain and gym.
Recharge Restaurant and Bar meanwhile offers scenic views and will serve up flavourful dishes with Hawaiian inspiration. There will also be a grab-and-go concept and a rooftop bar overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
“We are in an increasingly technological world. New generations are more autonomous, know what they want and want it in the moment. And Next comes to meet these needs,” says Chief Commercial Officer Ricardo Farinha. “It offers a different concept, signed by Savoy Signature, with a contemporary and technological stamp, where guests will have the opportunity to customise their stay and choose the services they really need and value. This concept is not only directed to Millennials but also to those who find themselves in an uncomplicated, contemporary and trend-oriented lifestyle, so anyone who enjoys technology and authenticity will enjoy learning about the latest addition to the Savoy Signature collection.”
A short walk from the island’s charming Old Town, the hotel will overlook the scenic harbour of the Madeiran capital and place guests a stone’s throw from many of its popular nightlife, restaurant and bar hotspots.
