Russell Sage bringing fresh designs to Fairmont St Andrews
Two Manor Homes at Fairmont St Andrews are set to be reimagined thanks to the work of interior designer Russell Sage. The new interior design combines quintessential modern Scottish luxury with acknowledgments to the historic town of St Andrews, the surrounding wild landscape, the home of golf and the Fairmont brand.
The design concept introduced by Russell Sage imbues the two homes with luxurious and timeless interiors, bringing guests closer to the unique personality of the countryside resort. Taking influence from the Art of Coorie, traditionally a Scottish word meaning “to snuggle or nestle”, the Manor Homes have been designed to provide a private getaway within the grounds of the hotel.
“I am delighted to contribute to the renovation of the Manor Homes at Fairmont St Andrews,” says Russell Sage. “The homes reflect the exciting, evolving vision at Fairmont and celebrate the brand’s unique appeal in this historic Scottish location.”
Kai Winkler, General Manager of the hotel, adds: “We are delighted to be working with Russell Sage to bring one of the most unique residential stay experiences to the home of golf, St Andrews. The Manor Homes offer an enhanced luxury escape complimented by designs and layouts which emanate the feeling of warmth, homely comfort and relaxation. The interior design tells a story authentic to the character of St Andrews and sees our vision for a reimagined luxury experience come to life.”
Russell Sage’s new designs will be complimented by the works of local artists, as well as recycled antique furniture pieces that reflect the rich local history.
The new Manor Homes, which will reside within walking distance of the main hotel, will offer bespoke residential experiences to guests, with additional access to the hotel’s main amenities, including restaurants, bars, spas and two Championship golf courses. Each Manor Home can accommodate up to 8 guests, and is equipped with a farmhouse kitchen, breakfast bar, dining room and separate formal dining area. The family Manor Home features a warmly lit cinema room and board games room, while the social Manor Home is designed for entertaining company, with a games and poker area, library and Dram room.
