Rothay Manor to launch eight new suites

Ambleside’s Rothay Manor will introduce eight new luxury suites to its grounds from Spring 2022.

Designed by Ben Cunliffe Architects with interiors by Dynargh Design, the spaces – upwards of 35m2 – are intended as sanctuaries, offering rural seclusion complemented by the services and amenities of the hotel.

Inspired by the manor’s picturesque location in the Lakes, the design of The Pavilion brings a sense of the outdoors in – using a soft, country-inspired colour palette of opulent fabrics, furnishings and amenities.

Four suites have their own private gardens, one of which also has a hot tub, while another is accessible and four are dog-friendly. Premium touches come in the form of super-king beds, baths and separate showers, and double sinks, while the usual mod-cons and amenities from a premium hotel room are on hand too.

Those looking for outdoor pursuits can go hiking and foraging to discover the surrounding lakes, forest and fells, before returning for a dining experience in the 3 AA Rosette restaurant, led by Head Chef Dan McGeorge – who was named the Champion of Champions in the 2021 edition of the BBC’s Great British Menu series .

Having completed the first phase – a £1.25m renovation – in 2020, reimagining the 15 rooms in the main house as well as introducing a new boot room and indoor dog wash, co-owners and husband and wife duo Jenna and Jamie Shail see The Pavilion – five years in the making – as the final piece of the puzzle.
