Room Mate opens third Malaga hotel
Room Mate hotels has opened Room Mate Valeria in Malaga with design by Victoria and Sylvia Melián Randolph.
Located in the heart of the city whilst just meters away from the Mediterranean sea, Room Mate Valeria is one of several latest projects designed by Victoria and Sylvia Melián Randolph.
The building is designed by Alejandro Armenteros de Dalmases and offers 61 guestrooms divided into five categories, from basic standard rooms to junior suites. Distinguishing features include a beautiful terrace with rooftop pool; a 60m2 fully equipped gym; whilst the hotel restaurant occupies the ground floor.
Internationally renowned interior designers and sisters Victoria and Sylvia Melian Randolph are the creators behind Room Mate Valeria’s décor and they have instilled the hotel with a striking, fun, sophisticated personality remaining faithful to the essence of Malaga.
The hotel’s public spaces reflect the vegetation surrounding the hotel with large tropical leaves in various shades of green. Meanwhile, the terrace features turquoise and white, a reflection of the sea views and Mediterranean atmosphere.
The lobby features sophisticated, modern lighting with contrasting reclaimed traditional Andalusian metal lanterns for the facades and public areas, whilst the Andalusian influence is continued within the two courtyards, through the cobblestone pavement from Córdoba – placed by hand in black and white – rattan furniture and large yellow-glazed pots.
Guestrooms are decorated in seafaring shades with white as the base colour. The overall colour palette consists of bright turquoise, shades of green and navy, contrasting with white marble floors and black furnishings.
Similarly, designers Gaston, Daniela and Francisco Lover have left their mark in the guestrooms through their characteristic floral prints; with a unique “Ybarra Serret” design created exclusively for Room Mate and inspired by the lush vegetation found in Malaga.
In addition to the unique features of Room Mate Valeria, guests can also enjoy the great services found in all Room Mate Hotels including breakfast served until noon and its innovative free WiFi Service WiMate, which provides free WiFi for guests not only in the hotel itself but also throughout the city.
