Rockwell Group has unveiled the first phase of The Boca Raton’s comprehensive redesign, including the iconic Palm Court lobby and restaurants The Flamingo Grill and Sadelle’s.

The New York-based architecture and interior design firm was inspired to rethink the amenity spaces to add cohesion and a renewed sense of luxury to the property. The design embraces Mizner’s Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial design ideals to return the property to its Golden Age. The result is a streamlined space that highlights historic features and embraces the Floridian indoor-outdoor lifestyle, while adding warmth and modern luxury with the use of rich textures including wood, stone, and glass.

The Palm Court, which acts as the heart of the lobby, has been stripped of previous ‘80s and ‘90s renovations. Functioning as a bar, café and main social space, The Palm Court features a new storefront with glazed arches framed in black steel, a contemporary interpretation of the existing arches found elsewhere on the property, encouraging the connection between indoors and out.

The Flamingo Grill is a classic Floridian restaurant and members-only club with a tropical feel. The dining room spills out onto a covered terrace with a bright and airy atmosphere, custom patterned floor tiles, and views of the golf club. In the interior dining room, which was inspired by local flora and fauna, Rockwell Group enhanced the existing vaulted ceiling by adding white painted wood louvers along the perimeter.

The outdoor club is shaded by large trees and has its own bar – an intimate oasis for members, with ping-pong and pool tables.

Located in the historic Garden Room, Sadelle’s, an outpost of the famous New York bagel and brunch institution, is wrapped in blue wood panelling with antique mirrors and custom light fixtures added behind the banquette seating. The dining room leads to an all-glass conservatory with a glowing trellis ceiling and arched, blackened steel details.

The next stage of the redesign will include an overhaul of the guestrooms and a Presidential suite that will be unveiled later in the year.
