Rocco Forte’s Verdura Resort debuts new look
Rocco Forte Hotels’ Verdura Resort has unveiled a new look, developed by Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen in collaboration with Olga Polizzi.
The hotel has now reopened its doors following a full refurbishment of its central building, which came about thanks to significant investment.
As part of the redesign, the main entrance has been reimagined by Lady Olga Polizzi, Director of Design at Rocco Forte Hotels, with sunlight now streaming in through all-glass windows, bathing the space in a golden hue.
The resort’s secret garden, Zagara, has also debuted a new design, now complete with bronze sculptures, stone and wood elements, and climbing plants wrapped around majestic wooden columns. Secluded dining niches located throughout the garden provide an intimate ambiance.
The island’s rich culinary traditions come to life at three new restaurants – L’Osteria, Zagara and Buongiorno – and at the newly launched cocktail bar Scirocco. Another new addition is the piazza beside the 16th century Saracen Tower – a lively and bustling space comprising a new shopping area and Nagori, a Japanese and Sicilian fusion restaurant.
Sicilian trattoria Liolà will also reopen this season with a new look that celebrates local craftsmanship, with colourful majolica tiles and warm terracotta tones.
“We are thrilled to begin a new chapter in the story of Verdura Resort,” says Sir Rocco Forte, Chairman of Rocco Forte Hotels. “The recent renovations really capture the essence of the location and elevate Verdura’s hospitality to new levels offering our guests an entirely new experience. The resort is looking stunning, I am so delighted with the results.”
