Ritz-Carlton Reserve debuts in Bali
Ritz-Carlton Reserve has announced the third addition to its bespoke resort portfolio with the Mandapa reserve in Ubud, Bali.
With 35 suites and 25 private pool villas, there is a selection of accommodation that has been designed to complement the surrounding tropical landscape. The traditional yet contemporary Balinese interiors by Jeffrey Wilkes have created a luxury experience, with every element of the design naturally inspired and sustainably sourced. In Mandapa, local providers have infused the retreat with natural materials that blend into the natural surroundings.
Named after the entrance to a traditional Hindu temple, Mandapa is situated along the Ayung River as it meets the jungle in Ubud, and is set amongst temples and rice terraces. Offering individually tailored spiritual, wellness, health and detox programs, complemented by the fulltime personalised attention of a dedicated ‘Patih’, or butler, the retreat is designed to be a sanctuary in which to relax.
The new reserve is a journey inside an indigenous Balinese village, and subsequently, unobstructed access to nature is an essential component of the experience. Views of working rice paddies are immediate from private terraces, and the centre of Mandapa features a traditional rice field, allowing guests to experience the time-honoured methods of planting, harvesting and tending the local culinary staple.
Mandapa village is also home to four restaurants and lounges offering an array of Indonesian cuisine, Mediterranean dining, and tailored health-conscious menus for wellness and detox programs. As well as having eight treatment rooms, the spa at Mandapa will feature a fitness centre, sauna, river-front yoga studio and vitality pool.
