Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia reopens
The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has re-opened its Philadelphia property after a multi-million pound series of refurbishments.
Overseeing a complete update of the brand’s Avenue of the Arts property was architect and interior design firm Wimberly Interiors, with renovations including new guestrooms and meeting spaces, refreshed lobby and public spaces, and a new restaurant, bar and lounge by Richard Sandoval.
The new guestrooms feature luxurious fabrics and furniture finishes in a neutral colour palate, with green, blue, notes of bronze and a nickel layer lending a contemporary finish. The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia Club Lounge has been completely redesigned to reflect a distinct sense of place in the heart of the city. In the Club Lounge, guests will have access to a concierge, as well as complimentary food and drink throughout the day.
The hotel was originally built as a reproduction of the Pantheon when it opened in 1908 as the Girard Trust Company. The refurbishments reflect the history and character of the building, and its connection to the arts, through neutral colours, textures and materials inspired by money and currency.
Located in the property’s marble lobby is restaurateur Richard Sandoval’s newest project Aqimero, serving up authentic Mexican cuisine with a wood burning grill at its centre, and a menu focused on sustainable seafood, steaks, ribs and poultry. A further addition is The Ceviche Bar, which will offer a combination of muscles, clams, and oysters, shrimp cocktail and lobster tail, and an assortment of sushi.
Topping the property is the Ritz Carlton Suite, offering views over the city from the 31st floor, a personal elevator, two full bedrooms, separate living and dining spaces, personal kitchen en suite, and a master bath.
