Rezidor Opens Two New Radisson Blu Spa Resorts in the Mediterranean

The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Dubrovnik Sun Gardens opened on July 3rd on the Dalmatian coast in Croatia. In addition, the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Cesme opened in June on Turkey’s Aegean coast.

The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Dubrovnik Sun Gardens is the largest resort on the Croatian coast. Featuring 201 guestrooms, each with a balcony, and 207 apartments with kitchenette and one, two or three bedrooms, the property is located within the Sun Gardens area, ten kilometres north of Dubrovnik and 17 km from Dubrovnik’s international airport.

According to Kurt Ritter, President & CEO of Rezidor, the company’s current pipeline comprises “more than 35 hotels with over 8,700 rooms in operation and under development across Europe, Middle East and Africa.”

The resort is designed like a Mediterranean village and was built with local materials such as “sadre“ stone from Dubrovnik and Brač Island. The Croatian architects Branimir Medić and Pero Puljiz, as well as the company Modul (Zagreb), have created a striking result of contemporary architecture and functionality. The resort’s interior was designed by London-based Hirsch Bedner Associates, while the gastronomy facilities are the work of Henry Chebaane from Blue Sky Hospitality.

The resort offers 13 restaurants and bars, including the restaurants “Origano”, “Tartufo” and “Maraska” as well as a variety of cocktail lounge bars and Mediterranean taverns. There is also a unique fresh food market where guests can taste, buy and even prepare their own food in the bakery, fishmongers’, butchers’, patisserie and the wine shop.

Further leisure facilities include three swimming pools, various beaches, a 7,000 sqm sports centre, a dedicated and supervised Kid’s Club, boat rides to the nearby islands, and excursions to local sights such as the 500 year old arboretum in Trsteno, or Dubrovnik.

The new resort also has multi-functional conference and banqueting facilities including a Grand Ballroom with a surface of more than 756 sqm plus ten smaller meeting.

Also new to the Radisson Blu portfolio is the recently opened Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Cesme. The resort offers 312 guest rooms, including 42 suites, two King suites and four duplex villas, all boasting views over the Aegean Sea or the landscaped gardens.

A 3,500 sqm Dulcis Thermal Spa & Hammam offers saunas, authentic Turkish hammams or Finnish hammam, massage treatments or various types of manicure and pedicure. There are three pools – a 1,000 sqm outdoor pool, an indoor pool with jet streams and a natural water thermal pool.

The resort has a selection of dining options. “Element” offers both Aegean and international cuisine, whilst “Blue” à la carte restaurant, located at the beachfront, is the hotel’s seasonal restaurant. In addition, there are three bars, each serving both light meals and snacks and a selection of drinks, plus the hotel has an on-site nightclub. The Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Cesme also has meeting and event facilities totalling 1,039 sqm.
