Renaissance Hotel Nashville undergoes full renovation
Renaissance Hotel Nashville has revealed elements of the renovation process that has seen it transformed from a 1985-era hotel into a contemporary space that reflects the spirit of the city.
Working closely together, Gresham Smith and Premier Project Management steered the project to create a new-look hotel that showcases the fresh, young spirit and fashion of today’s Nashville. Three brand-guiding design activators defined the design team’s approach: intriguing – engaging all the sense; indigenous – appreciative of local authenticity; and independent – rewarding wanderlust and exploration.
The design incorporates high and low finishes throughout, and a ‘maker’ aesthetic that is juxtaposed with more refined finishes to create a dynamic and elegant atmosphere. Creating unexpected moments throughout the hotel, features such as wall swing benches, a gold denim wall sculpture, braided rope sculptures, custom retro microphone sconces and a rotating wood-block art installation give the space a casual local hangout vibe.
Completed over a ten-phase extensive re-model, the conference centre and hotel common areas have been completely revived, with the addition of new monumental stairs, bars and updated gathering spaces throughout. The public spaces now flow seamlessly, from the conference centre, meeting rooms and grand ballroom, to the hotel lobby and F&B venues.
