Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind Amaala and The Red Sea, has announced a partnership with wellness brand Clinique La Prairie. The collaboration involves the development of Clinique La Prairie Health Resort, a 36,115m² resort within Amaala on Saudi Arabia’s north-western coastline.
The property will comprise 13 villas, as well as 52 rooms and suites, while its design is set to mirror Clinique La Prairie’s ethos – an approach to wellbeing that prioritises longevity. The central Longevity Plaza will lead to four distinctive areas of the resort, each corresponding to one of the property’s key pillars: medical care, nutrition, movement and wellbeing. Together, these sections will offer an array of facilities and activities, grounded in health and wellness technologies developed over 90 years.

Clinique La Prairie will offer synergistic treatments along two key pillars, with the property reflecting these. The medical pillar will involve an advanced diagnostics lab, as well as facilities relating to radiology, physiology, neuroscience, dermatology, aesthetics and dentistry. Leaning towards wellness, the destination will also provide a cryochamber, hyperbaric suites and IV infusion. Across the resort will be a range of other facilities, including a beach club, workshop and training rooms, museum, private dining space, and a cooking school.
Around the property, guests will notice that particular attention has been paid to landscaping, where idyllic gardens are used to establish a sense of place and tranquillity, a notion which has been vital to architect John Heah’s vision.
Similarly, sustainability has been announced as a cornerstone of the Amaala site, with the entire destination set to be powered by entirely renewable energy. The buildings themselves will be positioned around 100m back from the coastline, to avoid interference with the natural habitat of the Red Sea’s turtle population, while lighting will also be carefully used to protect the night sky and limit the impact of artificial light on wildlife.

Amaala is set to welcome its first guests in 2024 – part of its Phase One, at which point the site will consist of eight resorts, offering over 1300 keys. Upon completion, the destination will be home to more than 3,000 hotel rooms across 25 hotels, and approximately 900 luxury residential villas, apartments and estate homes. It will also be home to high-end retail establishments, fine dining, wellness and recreational facilities.
