Patina Hotels and Resorts heading for Tianjin
Patina Hotels and Resorts has announced the upcoming opening of Patina Tianjin in China, located in the bustling Hebei neighbourhood.
This new property, a collaboration between Tianjin Hebei District Industrial Development Group and Capella Hotel Group, promises a unique blend of modern luxury and a return to simplicity, immersing guests in an experience that draws on the heritage of Tianjin’s Italian Heritage District.
The hotel sits on 18,000m² of land, bisected by the start of a lively pedestrian promenade that terminates at the popular Marco Polo Square. The 17 heritage buildings accommodate more than 150 luxury guestrooms, including a 600m² historical presidential villa. The guestroom blocks are oriented inward toward private garden courtyards to create an urban oasis, with each offering a view of the courtyard through its Italianate windows.
True to the Patina ethos, the hotel places an emphasis on sustainable practices and eco-friendly operations. Patina Tianjin incorporates LEED standards for energy and WELL standards focused on indoor environment quality. Features like circadian lighting, fresh air filtration, and mindful eating spaces have been introduced to enhance both guest and staff wellbeing.
The arrival experience is set within an intimate drop-off courtyard, where guests are ushered into the lobby, with its centrepiece bar for an elevated check-in experience. Interspersed throughout the hotel grounds are the main restaurant, offering a range of local and international culinary delights, a specialty restaurant for celebratory dining, and a café with street-front al-fresco seating. Patina Wellness – the property’s on-site spa facilities – are complete with a well-equipped gym and an indoor conservatory swimming pool.
“We are excited to bring Patina’s unique vision of community and connection to Tianjin with the launch of Patina Tianjin,” says Cristiano Rinaldi, President of Capella Hotel Group. “This project introduces our ethos of fostering meaningful connections and a deep sense of community within the vibrant and historic context of Tianjin; and carries with it a social consciousness that appeals to the new generation of travellers.”
