Hyatt Hotels Corporation has announced the opening of Park Hyatt London River Thames, marking the brand’s debut in the UK.
Located riverside in Nine Elms, the property has been brought to life by KPF, Super Potato and Studio Moren. 203 guestrooms are on offer, crafted to epitomise thoughtful English design, as well as the hallmarks of the brand. A muted, neutral palette of white and ebony is complemented by leather and brass accents, as well as wallpapered walls designed by William Morris. Floor-to-ceiling windows ensure every room is filled with natural light, with many rooms offering sweeping views of the river Thames, the Houses of Parliament and the City of London.
Artwork is on display throughout, including a Thames-inspired installation at the hotel’s entrance by Charlie Whinney, as well as pieces by Ian Rayer-Smith, Jo Taylor, Françoise Delaire, Gabriel Leung, George Blacklock and Ewan David.
F&B venues at the new Park Hyatt outpost include The Nine Elms Kitchen & Terrace, where seasonal ingredients are used to pay homage to London; The Nine Elms Bar & Lounge; Tamisé Tea Lounge and Wine Library; and a Cantonese restaurant, expected to open in late 2024.
An entire floor has been dedicated to wellness, featuring a spa with panoramic river views, a 1,550ft² fitness center and an indoor pool, as well as six treatment rooms and a tranquil relaxation lounge.
The hotel is also home to 14,337ft² of meeting space – including one of the largest ballrooms to open in central London since 1929, with the ability to host 830 guests. An additional seven meeting rooms can also be opened to form one larger space and connect to an expansive foyer.
“The opening of Park Hyatt London River Thames is a testament to our continued commitment to expanding our luxury brand offering across Europe, Africa and the Middle East,” says Javier Águila, Group President EAME, Hyatt. “Sustaining this momentum is key to our goal of hotels’ accommodating guests who are looking for the ultimate indulgence. With Park Hyatt London River Thames’ exceptional views, sophisticated design, memorable meeting spaces and second-to-none culinary experiences, we are confident that this hotel will exceed expectations.”
Guan Zhixiong, Director of R&F One, adds: “One Nine Elms is an exciting mixed-use hotel and residential project with Park Hyatt London River Thames being the crown jewel among its offerings. This project brings together industry leaders across multiple fields, including KPF for architecture, Multiplex for construction, Super Potato for interior design and Hyatt for hospitality. This collaboration of top-tier talent is set to attract like-minded elites and industry leaders from around the globe to experience the unparalleled luxury of Park Hyatt London River Thames. As a model of urban regeneration, the hotel’s opening not only offers residents of One Nine Elms a distinctive luxury experience, but also breathes new life into the local community, achieving both economic and social value. Positioned among London’s most iconic landmarks, the hotel itself is destined to become a landmark in its own right.”
