Palisociety to reimagine San Diego landmark
Palisociety will mark the San Diego debut of its Palihotel brand in Spring 2023. Joining 15 other properties in the group’s wider portfolio, Palihotel San Diego finds its home in a building originally opened as St James Hotel in 1912.
“The city of San Diego is a natural extension of our home base of Los Angeles, but with a personality all of its own that easily complements Palihotel’s playful, irreverent style,” says Palisociety founder Avi Brosh. “We enthusiastically welcomed the opportunity to transform this gem of a property and pay homage to its roots as the St James, while injecting our own modern-day sense of classic and unexpected charm into every space.”
Spread across ten floors, the hotel’s 122 guestrooms will take on a charming nautical-inspired theme, coupling vintage furniture with palettes of muted pinks, blues and greys. Guests will also be offered a range of amenities from the likes of Diptyque, Nespresso and Smeg.
Stepping away from their rooms, guests will dine in the Saint James French Diner, an original concept that fuses the character of a classic American diner with elegant French bistro cuisine. Executive Chef Casey Lane, acclaimed in the Los Angeles restaurant scene, will serve guests with hearty plates for breakfast, lunch, dinner and weekend brunch.
The jewel in the San Diego offering’s crown is a rooftop deck with skyline views of the city, where visitors can dine al fresco on small plates and enjoy an extensive drinks menu.
