Nobu to expand footprint in Saudi Arabia
Nobu has unveiled plans to launch a hotel, restaurant and residential complex in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province city of Al Khobar.
Slated to open in 2024, the mixed-use complex will be situated on the Arabian Gulf waterfront and will comprise 120 guestrooms and suites alongside its residences, a lobby-level Nobu restaurant, a wellness centre and multiple swimming pools.
The development will be led by Al Khobar Sands Realestate Co. Ltd. and co-owned by Retal Urban Development Company and Assayel Arabia, subsidiaries of the Al Fozan Group and Ali Zaid Al Wuraishi and Brothers Company (AZAQ).
Both principal companies already have solid footprints across Saudi Arabia and are major contributors towards the country’s Vision 2030, which strives to reform and transform Saudi Arabia to open it up to the world.
“We are delighted to be partnering with Retal Urban Development Company and Assayel Arabia to deliver an exciting vision with the creation of a truly unique and transformative mixed-use destination in Saudi Arabia,” says Trevor Horwell, Chief Executive of Nobu Hospitality. “As part of this, the Nobu Residences Al Khobar will deliver to the community the opportunity to live the Nobu lifestyle.”
“Partnering with leading industry names enables us to live up to our promise of offering a premium portfolio of diversified real estate assets that meet the aspirations of the next generation of Saudis,” explains Abdullah Bin Faisal Al-Braikan, CEO of Retal Urban Development Company. “We are pleased to see international investors increasingly realising the exceptional growth opportunities that Vision 2030 continue to create in the local market.”
