Morah opens in Marriott Marquis Dubai
Morah, a 149-seat restaurant, has opened on the 71st and 72nd floors of the JW Marriott Marquis Dubai. With interiors created by Navigate Design, guests are welcomed into an intimate peach-hue scheme underscored by elements including candle-lit lanterns, resin oil paintings and gold leaf accenting.
Reached by a private elevator, Morah offers 270-degree views of the Dubai skyline and comprises a 35-foot bar, a sculptural spiral staircase connecting its two levels, and a luxurious chandelier. The restaurant features a predominantly concentric design, and is set within exterior architecture that resembles a star.
Past reception, the dining room opens into an airy space punctuated by soft seating in pastel leather and crush velvet. Curve detailing has been used throughout to soften the rigid architecture, whilst antique mirrors, weathered planters, palm trees and sea creatures in solid brass add eclectic character.
The lower dining area contains a central booth that seats six and anchors itself at the bottom of the stairs, becoming the focal point. Art and graphics play a significant role here, from the entry resin painting, next to the mermaid mirror wall that marries digitally printed mermaid tails and hand applied gold leafing.
Navigate has also designed four custom oval rugs, with a repeating mermaid motif, that sit below dining groups in the middle corners, and help to define Morah’s different zones.
