Minor Hotels to debut Anantara in Zambia
Minor Hotels has announced the upcoming debut of its Anantara brand in the African wilderness.
Slated to launch in early 2025, Anantara Kafue River Tented Camp will be located in the Kafue National Park in Western Zambia, one of the largest reserves in Zambia spanning 22,400km².
Suspended 3.5m above the ground, the property will comprise 12 spacious tents, including a 600m² Presidential Villa. The camp is bookended by two islands which will accommodate spa and wellness facilities, a swimming pool, bar, lounge and a traditional African boma.
The resort will embrace eco-friendly design features, from harnessing photovoltaic energy to employing parabolic collectors and sustainable wood, ensuring an equilibrium between development and the preservation of the natural environment. Nature-centric experiences will also sit centre-stage, with each tent having access to its own boat and skipper.
Anantara Kafue River will also stand as a community-driven endeavour, infusing indigenous elements into the fabric of the camp, from engaging local businesses in the supply chain to employing a majority Zambian staff.
“We are excited to announce this partnership with Agro Safari to develop and launch an exclusive tented camp in Zambia under our luxury Anantara flag,” comments Dillip Rajakarier, CEO of Minor Hotels and parent company Minor International. “This represents a unique opportunity to offer unparalleled experiences to discerning travellers looking to explore outside the more well-known African parks”.
