Minor Hotels to bring Avani to the Maldives
Minor Hotels has announced an April opening for Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort, which will mark the brand’s debut in the country and Minor’s sixth.
Set on the natural island of Fares at the western edge of the heart-shaped atoll, the 176-key newbuild will comprise multiple accommodation options, from beach pool villas and four-bedroom beach pavilions to three-bedroom overwater villas that fan out across the island’s bay. Tribal-themed spaces have been designed to strike a careful balance between privacy and connectivity, with private swimming pools and sundecks positioned just steps away from the island’s shores.
Breezy palm lined pathways will lead guests to a range of additional on-site facilities, including a water sports centre, an AvaniFit gym and a contemporary AvaniSpa. A range of bars and restaurants – seven in total – will be found on site, alongside the option for private beach and in-villa dining. F&B offerings will include traditional Maldivian cuisine, freshly caught fish and organic produce from the resort’s mini farm, accompanied by spaces like a poolside bar, and a choice of beverages from the largest collection of rum in the Maldives.
The new hotel will find itself set within the marine protected waters of Baa Atoll’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, a location that will allow guests to soak up the undisturbed surrounding landscape and wildlife.
“We are excited to confirm the opening date of the highly anticipated Avani+ Fares Maldives Resort and look forward to welcoming guests from April 2023,” comments William Costley, Senior Vice President of Operations for Asia at Minor Hotels. “The first hotel opening in the area for more than three years, Avani+ Fares will continue to highlight Avani as a trailblazing hotel brand, filling a gap in the Maldivian hotel landscape.”
