Martin Brudnizki designs first London hotel
Slated for launch in late 2022, Broadwick Soho is a 57-room hotel home to a Sicilian-inspired restaurant and terrace, rooftop lounge, intimate dining room and speakeasy bar. Taking its cues from the spirit of Soho, the property is being designed by Ica and Martin Brudnizki, marking the latter’s first project in the capital.
Conceived by a group of friends, who dreamed of creating a hideaway in London’s most loved neighbourhood, the hotel will offer sanctuary and a place for fun, where all are welcome. The residential-style guestrooms, including one Penthouse and nine suites, are all individually designed, with many offering private balconies.
The hotel’s signature restaurant will serve Sicilian fare, including a classic Aperitivo and traditional sharing dishes. On the upper floor, the wraparound rooftop bar and terrace will be a space for casual dining, cocktails, vistas and a programme of live music and entertainment. For those seeking a private experience, the eighth-floor dining room with views overlooking Soho offers a glamorous backdrop for celebrations and weddings.
Hailed for blending modernity and authenticity, Brudnizki’s approach is a match for the neighbourhood, where the creative, eclectic and exhilarating atmosphere is as emblematic as a warm welcome. Together with the Broadwick Soho team, Brudnizki has created a design concept that is inspired by Soho’s natural grit and glamour, and describes the hotel as “70s hedonistic disco pop meets your eccentric godmother’s townhouse.”
General Manager David Monson comments: “To complement the characterful interiors at Broadwick Soho, there will be an authentic and genuine culture delivered by our charming employees who truly care, along with the personal connections they will make with our guests, who will want to return again and again.”
